Objective

  1. Determine thickness of a cured UNI Carbon tape + Epoxy layup. Extrapolate if thickness increase is linearly correlated to the number of plies

Materials

Test Outline

Create a total of 12 test samples at varying ply numbers

  1. Four coupons at 1 ply thick
  2. Four coupons at 2 plies thick
  3. Four coupons at 4 plies thick

Each coupon shall be 25mmx50mm in size, with the fibers pointing along the longer dimension

The samples shall be sandwiched between two layers of mylar sheets, and vacuum bagged at 6inhg for 24 hours.

Repeat test procedure for both Carbon tow and 2.74oz Fiberglass
