To support preliminary design and sizing, we will develop mass estimation functions for each aircraft substructure. These functions will account for material properties and manufacturing methods, and will be defined for varying cross-sectional shapes and areas. Each function will output mass per unit length, which can then be scaled by the required length to determine total substructure mass.
