Tricycle gear
General Notes
- Stable as CG is forwards of main gear
- Can be landed with fairly high crab angles
Tailwheel gear
General Notes
- Provides additional propeller clearence
- Provides more lift at takeoff due to angled configuration
- Inherently unstable due to CG location being behind main gear
- Requires continuous pilot input for correction to avoid ground loop
- Has less drag and weight compared to tricycle gear
Tandem gear (bicycle gear)
General Notes
- Often requires aircraft to have high lift at low AOA due to rear wheel being very far back behind CG
- Take off and land at flat attitudes
- Useful for aircraft with narrow fuselage w/ wide wing span
Quadricycle
General Notes
